MHA -- The Minnesota Homeschoolers' Alliance -- Supporting Families Learning Together

Welcome To MHA!

MHA LogoMinnesota Homeschoolers’ Alliance (MHA) is a statewide organization that provides information and support to homeschooling families. The group started out informally in 1982. MHA incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1991, and has been extending a helping hand to Minnesota homeschoolers ever since.

MHA is nonsectarian - there is no religious affiliation or orientation, and people of all faiths and beliefs are welcome. Our members are a diverse group of families with different backgrounds and different approaches to homeschooling, but we all share a common goal: to encourage and facilitate families that choose to educate their children at home.

Please browse our site and contact us if you have any questions. For membership information, visit our Join MHA page. We’ll be glad to have you aboard!

Upcoming MHA Events

2008 MHA Annual Conference: It’s our biggest event of the year! MHA’s Annual Conference will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the New Brighton Family Service Center. This year’s Conference features nationally-known homeschooling author Alison McKee, author of Homeschooling Our Children, Unschooling Ourselves and From Homeschool to College and Work: Turning Your Homeschooled Experiences into College and Job Portfolios. For more information, please visit our Annual Conference page.

More an “Announcement” than an “Event”, but … MHA’s new “Wiki” site has finally been upgraded and integrated with the MHA web pages! The color scheme is different, to help you know when you’re on an MHA Wiki page as opposed to the regular MHA website. Give the new MHA Wiki site a try right now! Many thanks to MHA website co-coordinator Andy Pearson, who spent many hours bringing the new Wiki pages from the concept stage to reality - nice work, Andy!

Post Your Events For MHA Members On Our Wiki Pages

Are you a tutor? A tester? A homeschooling party jester? Please post the details of the service you offer on our community discussion area - the Wiki pages. Not sure what Wiki is? Then start with the Wiki tutorial! Once you’ve posted your information, any MHA member looking for the type of service you offer can easily find you. Examples of helpful posts include the following:

Support Group Leaders: Post information about your group on the Wiki Support Groups page.

Events and Opportunities: Post upcoming events of interest to homeschoolers on our Wiki Events and Opportunities page.

Have anything else to say? On our Wiki pages, you’re in charge. Create a new page, start a discussion, ask a question, or answer one … the sky’s the limit! Anyone can edit and add to Wiki pages, so you can network with homeschoolers from all over the state. Try it today!
