Text: !!Confused about the different types of standardized tests? Homeschoolers in Minnesota have a choice in what standardized test to use for their children. The law requires that children ages 7-15 take a standardized, norm-referenced achievement test every school year. There are many types of tests and many resources for testing. If you're familiar with different tests or resources, add them to this page! If you don't see yours listed, feel free to add a page for it!__ ----- *[CaliforniaAchievementTest] -- A popular test in the homeschooling community, the California Achievement Test is also known as the CAT. *[IowaTestOfBasicSkills] -- Commonly used in public schools, The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is also available to homeschoolers. It is known as the ITBS or simply the Iowa Test. *[PeabodyTestAndTesters] -- The Peabody Individual Achievement Test (PIAT) is an orally-administered exam that must be given by a trained private tester. *[WideRangeAchievementTest] -- The Wide Range Achievement Test (also known as the WRAT) is another test occasionally chosen by homeschooling families.
