You’ll have access to a wealth of resources when you join MHA. Our group will get your family off to a great start with homeschooling, and we’ll support you for years to come. Here are some of the principal benefits enjoyed by members of the Minnesota Homeschoolers’ Alliance.
Member Handbook: What is it you’d really like to know about homeschooling … How to get started? What your legal obligations are? How to find curriculum suppliers? Every new member of MHA receives a copy of our Handbook, which answers all of the above questions and many more. For a more detailed look at the contents of the Handbook, go to our Member Handbook page. Our members have said again and again that the Handbook alone is worth more than the cost of membership.
The Grapevine: MHA publishes a quarterly newsletter full of announcements and articles of interest to all Minnesota homeschoolers. If you go to The Grapevine page, you can link to a sample issue. The Grapevine is a great way to keep up to date!
Phoneline: Sometimes you just need to talk to somebody who’s “been there.” You can phone a question into MHA, and a real, live homeschooler will call you back. For the details, go to our Phoneline page.
Legislative Watch: Homeschoolers tend to be pretty attentive when the legislature’s in session. MHA members are no exception to that rule. Our Legislative Watch page will keep you up to date on state issues that we’re monitoring, and also provide links to other organizations that keep tabs on both state and federal legislation.
Support Groups: Whether you’re just getting started or have been homeschooling for years, a support group can be a powerful ally. Go to our Find Local Support page for details on how MHA can help you.
Teen Group: For information on homeschooling teens and on MHA’s Minnesota Homeschooling Teens (MHT) Group, go to our Homeschooling Teens page.
Member Discounts: The homeschooling market has now gotten the attention of many businesses. MHA has arranged for discounts with a wide array of local and national companies, both large and small. Go to our Member Discounts page for the details.
Events E-List: As an MHA member, you’ll have access to our “Events E-List.” This is the definitive e-mail of events and opportunities in the Minnesota homeschooling community. For more information on the Events E-List and how it works, go to our Events E-List page.
MHA Membership Directory: The MHA Membership Directory has contact information for all MHA members, including any in your area.
Volunteer Opportunities: MHA offers many opportunities for members to get involved in supporting homeschoolers in Minnesota.
