If you can donate some time and energy to MHA and the homeschooling movement, we’ll put it to good use. Almost all of our Coordinators rely on other volunteers for help. In fact, many of our Coordinators started out by helping another Coordinator at MHA. It’s very rewarding, and a great way to get involved.
Many homeschooling families now also have teens looking for ways to engage in community service. MHA is committed to accommodating that need. Our MHT group is always a tremendous help at MHA’s Annual Conference, and a 17-year-old was the lead programmer for this website, handling virtually all of the layout and graphics design. If you have willing teens, we’ll do our best to find meaningful work for them. There is always something to do, and we try hard to find activities that are a good match for our volunteers’ interests.
Here are a few examples of ways you can help a Coordinator:
- Return calls made to our Phoneline.
- Respond to e-mail inquiries.
- Staff our State Fair Booth.
- Submit articles to The Grapevine.
- Handle various needs at our Annual Conference.
Please take a look at our Current Openings page for a list of jobs you could help out with right now. To volunteer for one of those positions or to volunteer generally for MHA, e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@homeschoolers.org.
