Countdown!
The 2010 MHA Annual Conference is fast approaching. We have a wonderful conference in the works, so mark your calendar now for Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the New Brighton Family Service Center. It’s conveniently located near the junction of I-35W and I-694 (click here for printer-friendly directions). It is also the home of the Eagle’s Nest Indoor Playground, which can be helpful if you wish to plan activities for your children.
Join us for a day of exciting workshops and resources designed to meet the needs of homeschoolers. The all-day Conference offers something for everyone - “getting started” workshops, panel sessions, exhibitor displays and yes, even more than we can list here!
Our keynote speaker and presenter will be Linda Dobson, parent-home educator, author of eight homeschool books including The Ultimate Book of Homeschooling Ideas, founder of the New York (State) Home Educator’s Network, and founder and editor of the Parent at the Helm web site. During her twenty-five years in the homeschool community, she has served as an advisor for the National Home Educators Network, written dozens of homeschool articles that have appeared in magazines such as Good House-keeping and Reader’s Digest, and spoken at homeschool conferences and workshops throughout the United States.
In addition to our inspiring keynote speaker, you’ll…
- receive an exclusive MHA zippered tote bag – perfect for Park Days, trips to the library or wherever your homeschool adventures may take you!
- have access to workshops and experienced homeschoolers
- get answers to all your beginning homeschool questions
- discover new ideas about how to teach academics
- learn more about homeschooling teens and struggling learners
- shop to your heart’s content in our exhibitor hall and find great deals at the used book tables
Hotel
The Hampton Inn Shoreview offers a conference rate of $89/room for a block of rooms they’ve set aside for both Friday and Saturday nights. However, they can only hold them until 8/25 (although they will continue to honor the rate, the rooms may not be available.) Mention “MHA” when making reservations.
